SWY Links are a collection of Ship for World Youth related links. This page is more for alumni of the program as well as those who want to learn more about SWY activities outside of the United States. SWY Links is divided into the following four clickable sections:

The Ship for World Youth Alumni Association (SWYAA) page has the most up-to-date links for each SWY alumni association. The Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) page similarly has the most up-to-date links for each SSEAYP alumni association. The list below breaks down of the countries with a web presence.

  • SWY Official Video - This is an official video of the Ship for World Youth program created in 2006. Please use this video to promote the SWY program. Copyright: International Youth Exchange Organization of Japan (IYEO)
  • SWYAA Promotion Kit - This PowerPoint material was created by the members of SWYAA Promotion Kit Project Team 2002. Please add or delete any information on this slide show to best suit your country's situation. Note the PowerPoint presentations were updated in May 2009.
  • Handbook for Cultural Understanding - This Handbook was created by the members of SWYAA to enhance inter-cultural understanding.
  • SWYAA Guideline - This guideline was written by the delegates of the Ex-PY Conference 2001 and 2002. Please use this as a reference material when establishing/strengthening your alumni association.
  • Participating Youth (PY) Preparation Manual - This manual is designed to be a general resource to all PYs of the SWY program. It was developed in December 2001 by SWYAA. AA members are welcome to modify this handbook to best suit your country's situation. Note this manual was revised in October 2009.
  • National Leader (NL) Preparation Handbook - This is supplementary to the PY Preparation Handbook which was developed in December 2002 by SWYAA to assist NLs to prepare for the SWY program. Note that this handbook was revised in October 2009.
  • Ice Breakers - Ice breaking and team building exercises can be useful tools to manage cross-cultural communications and help integrate different cultures participating in the group. Examples of such exercises can be found in this document.
